Car Dealers enjoy new on-line service

Car Dealers now have an easier way to meet some of their legislative requirements without the need to file paper forms. Auckland based company MotorWeb; developer of the VIR™ (The Vehicle Information Report™) has launched the first of a series of on-line transactions for the Motor Industry. Car Dealers can now register a vehicle into the 'Dealer Network' (a MR13C transaction) with just a few clicks of the mouse using the Internet.

"This is a first of it's kind, and we see it as a great way for us to make our processes more efficient " says Steve Coley, F&I Manager at Schofields Holden. "This is one less form to fill in, and is a logical extension to the electronic services we already use".

Car Dealers must perform this transaction to exempt vehicles from CVL (Continuous Vehicle Licensing). Previously, a lengthy form had to be filled in, but now notification of all the relevant details are sent directly to the LTSA's Transport Registry Centre at the click of a button.

MotorWeb Managing Director Chris Knight comments "We have been working hard on our on-line Government services for quite some time, and we are delighted to be able to roll out this first service at no additional charge to our valued customers. It's part of our commitment to reduce risks and simplify legal compliance for the Motor Industry, and add value for our customers".

MotorWeb's industry website connects directly with the LTSA, the Private Property Security Register (PPSR) run by the Ministry of Economic Development, and other databases to display the full legal status of any vehicle in New Zealand.

MotorWeb will soon launch the only Internet based vehicle Change-of-Ownership (MR13B) facility. This allows a Car Dealer to immediately transfer ownership into their customer's name, thereby removing the dealer's exposure to any traffic tickets the buyer may incur as they speed off in their shiny new purchase.

Chris Taylor, Manager Agencies "We have been working with MotorWeb to deliver on-line Government transactions and reduced compliance costs. This is an great example of a private - public partnership and we look forward to MotorWeb rolling out more of its innovative services."

MotorWeb is a 100% NZ owned company, that has built the on-line services with private investment capital.
